Answers: taken from the Bible.

The answer is “NO” to 1: A person cannot turn from his sin to go to Heaven because everyone is born with a sin-nature. The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). (see Ecclesiastes 7:20)

The answer is “NO” to 2: Trying to keep the commandments shows us we are sinners. The Bible says, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10). (see Isaiah 64:6)

The answer is “NO” to 3: Being sorry for your sins, or confessing your sins, cannot take away sin. The Bible says the penalty of sin is death. We all die physically, but we also deserve to die spiritually by spending eternity in Hell. The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). (see Romans 5:12)

The answer is “NO” to 4 and 5: Doing your best is commendable. To top sinning is also very desirable (yet impossible). Will doing these things make you perfect? No! This is impossible! Heaven is perfect place and you have to be perfect to enter. The Bible says, “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life” (Revelation 21:27). (see Habakkuk 1:13)

The answer is “NO” to 6 and 7: No good deeds, charity, contributions to churches, nor any act by you, can make you perfect or save you from Hell. The Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). (see Habakkuk 3:20)

So far it sounds quite bad. We are sinners. We all deserve to go to Hell. Heaven is a perfect place. Nothing we do can make us perfect. How then can we go to Heaven? The answer is found in God’s Word. The Bible says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (II Corinthians 5:21). (see Isaiah 53:6, I Peter 3:18)

Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again from the dead to pay for all our sins. He shed His blood to save us. Only through Him, can we go to Heaven. The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

What then must you do to go to Heaven?

The answer is “YES” to 8: By only trusting in Jesus Christ as the Savior who died for your sins, you will receive everlasting life. Everlasting life will start the moment you accept Christ as your personal Savior. Even though you may die physically, your soul will live forever in Heaven. Jesus Christ said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life” (John 6:47). (see I John 5:11)

Jesus also said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). (see Acts 16:30-31)

By trusting in Jesus Christ as your Savior you will receive God’s righteousness (perfection), which allows you to enter Heaven. The Bible says, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness” (Romans 4:5).

The answer is “NO” to 9: Nothing you can do can add to the finished work of Christ. By doing so, you are NOT trusting in Christ alone as your Savior but only as your helper. This won’t get you to Heaven at all. To go to Heaven you must completely forget about yourself and your commitments and put your trust only in the Savior, Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified” (Galatians 2:16). (see Titus 3:5)

Trusting Jesus Christ as your Savior is a one-time decision in your life. The moment you believe in Christ as your Savior, God will give you eternal life. Once you have believed, God will accept you as His child. The Bible says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). (see Galatians 3:26)

God may discipline you, but He will never kick you out of His family. You have eternal life which is secure. You can never lose it, neither can you forfeit it. God’s unconditional promise is that He will never take it away from you. The Bible says, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28).

This is called eternal security. Serving the Lord is important, but if relied upon to get you to Heaven, it will not get you there. (see John 6:37, 39; I Peter 1:3-5)

The answer is “NO” to 10: Friend, I cannot make you believe in Heaven or Hell. Maybe you don’t believe in it because you can’t see it. But neither can you see the air you breathe, yet without it, you would die. If Heaven is not real, and if Hell is not real, I have nothing to lose. But if they are real, you have everything to lose. Hell is real! Heaven is real! Why not investigate God’s Word. Be honest with yourself. Why not trust Christ as your Savior now, before it is too late?

You can trust in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior right now. You will be saved from Hell for eternity. You will also have the assurance that your sins are forgiven (past, present, and future), and that you will spend eternity with God in Heaven.

Right now, why not trust Christ as your Savior and be sure of going to Heaven. The Bible says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (I John 5:13).

If you have never received Jesus Christ as Savior, what is stopping you right now from accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior? In your mind, you can say something, "I don't know everything; however, I know I am a sinner. I know I do not want to go to Hell when I die. I want to go to Heaven when I die. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for ALL my sins (past, present, and future), buried for me, and resurrected for me."

(see Hebrews 10:10, 12, 14, 17; Galatians 3:22; Romans 3:28; Romans 4:1-5, 5:8, 18-21)

Once Saved, Always Saved -“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:28-30 KJV).
