A person is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
A believer grows by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
II Peter 3:18: But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
When a person trusts Jesus Christ to take them to Heaven, He becomes THEIR SAVIOR. THIS IS SALVATION! When a person allows Jesus Christ to control their life, He is THEIR LORD. THIS IS SERVICE.
A believer is to never leave the foot of the Cross. The epistles are written to believers, they are NOT written to non-believers.
GOSPELS
Matthew: the author is Matthew (Levi) and the Holy Spirit, writer of the first Gospel.
Theme: Christ, the King
Mark: the author is Mark and the Holy Spirit, writer of the second Gospel.
Theme: Christ, the Servant
Luke: the author is Luke and the Holy Spirit, writer of the third Gospel.
Theme: Christ, the Man
John: the author is John and the Holy Spirit, writer of the fourth Gospel.
Theme: Chris in His Deity, the Son of God
HISTORY
Acts: the author is Luke and the Holy Spirit. Luke writes to a man and his name is Theophilus. Luke writes about the beginning and early work of the Church. The book documents all three of Paul’s mission trips; hence, the epistle letters to the places Paul visited. The Book of Acts is the History book of the Church.
Acts 1:1: The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach.
EPISTLES
Romans: the author is Paul and the Holy Spirit. Paul writes to Christians in Rome declaring the Gospel.
Romans 1:7: To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
A saint is one who is set apart to God, thus a term for every believer since all believers are in the Holy One, Jesus Christ.
I Corinthians: the author is Paul and the Holy Spirit. Paul writes a corrective letter to carnal Christians in Corinth.
I Corinthians 1:2: Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:

II Corinthians 1:1: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia.

Galatians: the author is Paul and the Holy Spirit. Paul writes to Christians in Galatia defending the Gospel.
Galatians 1:2: And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia.
Brethren are persons of the same professions or the same faith; they are children of the same family -the family of God.
Ephesians: the author is Paul and the Holy Spirit. Paul writes to Christians in Ephesus about “True Church,” “His Body,” the Body of Christ.
Ephesians 1:1: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.

I Timothy 1:2: Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
Timothy is a pastor of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
II Timothy: (a pastoral epistle) the author is Paul and the Holy Spirit. Paul writes to Christian pastor (Timothy) about apostasy predicted in the last days.
II Timothy 1:2: To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
Timothy is a pastor of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Titus: (a pastoral epistle) the author is Paul and the Holy Spirit. Paul writes to Christian pastor (Titus) about pastoral work and Godly living.
Titus 1:4: To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Titus is a pastor of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Philemon: the author is Paul and the Holy Spirit. Paul writes to a Christian and his name is Philemon. Paul is teaching about Christian brotherhood.
Philemon 1:1: Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer.
Philemon is a fellow laborer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews: the author of Hebrews is unknown; however, we know it was the Holy Spirit that wrote these epistles through men. The book instructs Jewish Christians that O.T. Judaism (the law) had come to an end through the fulfillment of Christ.
Hebrews 3:1: Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.
Brethren are persons of the same professions or the same faith; they are children of the same family -the family of God.
James: the author is James and the Holy Spirit. James writes to Christians Jews (saved) dispersed throughout the Roman Empire about Christian living and one’s testimony does matter.
James 1:2: My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.
James 1:18-19: Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

I Peter: the author is Peter and the Holy Spirit. Peter writes to Christians Jews (saved) dispersed about exhortation and testimony.
I Peter 1:1-2: Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
The election is a free choice to be set apart in Christ by trusting in Christ alone for salvation; the power of choosing or selecting.
II Peter: the author is Peter and the Holy Spirit. Peter writes to Christians about false teachers.
II Peter 1:1: Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Faith in Christ alone allows every believer to receive the righteousness required for Heaven.
I John: the author is John and the Holy Spirit. John writes to Christians about every child of God “falls out of fellowship” with their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ; however, they NEVER EVER lose their position as a child of God; a child of God is eternally secure forever!
I John 2:1: My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
The very second a person believes in Christ alone for salvation, they become a child of God.
II John: the author is John and the Holy Spirit. John writes to a Christian lady about “truth” about Jesus.
II John 1:1: The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth.
The election is a free choice to be set apart in Christ by trusting in Christ alone for salvation; the power of choosing or selecting.
III John: the author is John and the Holy Spirit. John writes to a Christian and his name is Gaius. John is teaching about “living the truth.”
III John 1:1: The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
A well-beloved person is a person that is greatly loved.
Jude: the author is Jude and the Holy Spirit. Jude writes to Christians to contend earnestly in the faith.
Jude 1:1: Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called.
Sanctified is to be set apart unto God; to impart or impute sacredness. This is Positional Sanctification which set apart by Christ’s redemptive work at the Cross of Calvary and forever secure in Christ.
Preserved is to guard against loss or injury. A person is in possession of a salvation in which they will be eternally kept.
PROPHECY
Revelation: the author is John and the Holy Spirit. John reveals the revelation of Jesus Christ at His second advent. Jesus Christ is related to the church, tribulation, millennial kingdom, and eternal state. Jesus Christ is presented as the Ruler, the Bridegroom, Head of the Church, Lion of the tribe of Judah, Lamb that was slain, High Priest, and the King and Judge. John was commanded to write on things past, things present, and things future.
Revelation 1:1: The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John.
A servant is a slave; in subjection or subserviency; a bondservant. The saints are servants of God who are separated unto the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:1). The servants of sin have rejected the doctrine of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:17).
